Wiggleworth caught fire in my neck of the woods a few years back. When
I asked someone close to the PO why he was dropped from the possible
candidates, I was told that, at this stage of his development he is "all
technique." He tends to learn a few pieces very well and play them
everywhere. What he really needs to do is what Rattle did; stay with a
lesser orchestra for a decade and learn more repertoire. He is really
talented.
