My thanks to those who commented about my review of Britten's War Requiem.
I am especially grateful for the (mostly) gentle criticisms of those who
are far more experienced with the work than I. It seems to me that this
was a model of the way I wish the list worked all the time: thoughtful
contrasting opinions expressed articulately and with supporting backup.

The only place where I think I still disagree is in some of the
characterization of my theological analysis, and I don't think this list
is the place to go deeper into that!

So, again, my appreciation to the Britten experts who I "flushed" with
my effort at analysis. I can't wait to revisit the piece with your
observations enriching my listening.

Ed
