With the reduced monies available to me to buy music these days, new
releases have to be "very" intriguing/enticing. The following are in
that category:

Immerseel/Beths/Bylsma performing Beethoven piano trios on Sony. It's good
to see that Sony hasn't dumped Bylsma who is an outstanding artist.

Haydn String Quartets Opus 76 from the Mosaiques on Astree. Nobody does
Haydn better than this superb group.

The third 2-cd set volume of Mozart piano concertos from Jarrett on ECM.
Although, in his previous 2 volumes, Jarrett is a little low on energy, I
do love his flow and poetry.

Bax chamber works on Naxos from an ensemble named "Mobius". Bax is a great
friend when I want music for relaxation but don't want to become comatose.

Bartok String Quartets from the Hagen Quartet on DG. Lately, DG seems to
believe that the Hagen Quartet does not have a sufficient audience in the
U.S, since their cd's have not been released here. Maybe this one will
crack through that premise.

Bach arias from Magdalena Kozena on Archiv. I don't think I have any cd's
of Bach arias isolated from their customary context. Also, Ms. Kozena, is
such a lovely young woman that I'll continue to delude myself that someone
who looks so good couldn't possibly sing poorly.

Lastly, just a reminder that Hogwood's set of Bach's French Suites has
finally hit the street at mid-price. It's worthy of being snapped up
quickly.
