I have been lurking for a short time and I have a question for anyone out
there that can answer it! I am new to Classical Music - I understand that
Beethoven became deaf late in life, and yet still composed. I heard that
he cut the legs off of his piano so that he could feel the vibrations on
the floor. Does anyone know if this is true? Or maybe what the real story
it? I'm currently in college studying to be a deaf interpreter - it is a
class assignment to interact on a listserv and since this subject is so
interesting to me, I would appreciate any thoughts you might have - Thanks!
