What a coincidence you should post that quote, I read the exact same quote
on an album sleeve of Ivan Moravec's Chopin Complete Ballades, Preludes and
Nocturnes not more than a half hour ago!
I know Rubinstein, Cortot, Friedmann, Hofmann have been long associated
with Chopin but I rarely read about anyone raving about Krystian Zimerman
on this list; which I find odd, because his Chopin is truly revelationary.
Zimerman's beautiful sound, elegance, cantabile phrasing and virtuosity is-
in my opinion- the best of any active pianists today.
