Mats Norrman, about two recordings of Mahler's 6:

>But if the timings are exactly the same but two seconds, and they sound
>suspiciously similar, isn't there a great probability that the Nanut and
>Haenchen recordings are actually one and the same?

I've noticed this too, but I have other theories:

a) Nanut and Haenchen are the same person, an inverse kind of Jekyll and
Hyde (two becomes one). Warning: both are equally toxic.

b) Nanut is an artistic pseudonym of Haenchen, or viceversa. (writers do
this often, so why not conductors?)

c) Nanut is a criminal alias of Haenchen, or viceversa. (bank robbers do
this often...etc.)

d) Nanut and Haenchen are twin brothers and were separated at born, just as
in this film of Jean Claude Van Damme. (filmmakers of the list: I suggest
a remake with the title "Double Beat").

e) Perhaps Karajan is a single name for a lot of unknown conductors who
were reduced to one by the laziness of collective memory, just as Homerus
was.

PS: Has anyone in this list seen Nanut and Haenchen together?
