I don't know of any recordings, but Washington's National Symphony
Orchestra under Music Director Leonard Slatkin in a Beethoven Festival
september 7-16 in the Kennedy Center is performing Mahler's editions
of Beethoven's 3rd, 5th, 7th and 9th Symphonies with also Frederic Chiu
performing the Beethoven/Liszt Symphony No. 5 transcription for piano and
Mahler's arrangement of Bach's Suites and Beethoven's String Quartet in F.
This promises to be a rare and exciting event. Perhaps, hopefully, these
performances will be recorded.
