Its epic grandeur.  I suppose that could be perceived as bombastic
pomposity.  And there's the prominent organ part.  It certainly doesn't
have the drive of the Bruckner, but it has a kind of static massiveness
that seems appropriate.

BTW, if you like the Bruckner, I recommend you take a listen to the Dvorak
Te Deum, a shamefully neglected piece.  The opening makes the Bruckner seem
static in comparison.
