The New York Archaeological Council would like to extend an invitation to
join the organization to all qualified archaeologists working in New York
State.
The New York Archaeological Council is a not for profit organization whose
membership is composed of professional archaeologists. NYAC goals are “to
stimulate, guide, direct and conduct research in the field of archaeology
in the State of New York; to publish the results of such archaeological
research;...to promote the exchange of information among the various
individuals and organizations engaged in the study of archaeology in New
York State and elsewhere; to foster and promote knowledge of and interest
in public archaeology and archaeological preservation; to do any other act
or thing incidental to or connected with the foregoing purposes or in
advancement thereof..."
There are two basic types of NYAC memberships, full and graduate student.
Full Membership in NYAC requires a formal review process of the applicant’s
eligibility. To be a full member the applicant must have at least a post-
