In Australia the standard text is "Dinkum Dunnies" which is an illustrated
guide to the variety of out door privies in Australia. It could be described
as one of the most important texts on Australian vernacular architecture
particularly as its has a suitable theoretical stance, minimalist text and
excellent photographs.

It is readily available on the second hand market.
