The Potter's Dictionary of Materials and Techniques by Frank and Janet Hamer
is a good source of types of kiln furniture (as well as other things). You
should also note that both Trenton, New Jersey and East Liverpool, Ohio had
manufacturers strictly dedicated to the production of formalized kiln
furniture such as stilts, spurs, shelves and saggars.
