LIST OF SHA AWARDS NOW UP ON THE SHA WEB PAGE

The SHA Awards Committee is pleased to announce that a record of
all SHA Awards:  J.C. Harrington Medal
                   Carol V. Ruppe Distinguised Service Award
                   John L. Cotter Award
                   SHA Awards of Merit

that explains each award and gives a complete listing of all past
recipients has now been permanently added to the SHA Webb Page. This
list will be updated each year with the names of new recipients.

Susannah Dean, our SHA Webmaster, has done an excellent job of
placing the list on the Web Page under the section on "About the
SHA." Take a look at the new AWARDS OF THE SOCIETY FOR HISTORICAL
ARCHAEOLOGY by going to http://www.sha.org  or typing 'Society for
Historical Archaeology' into your search engine.

P.S. Sheli Smith and her 2001 Conference Committee in Long Beach
have some innovative ideas about the next Awards Ceremony which
will keep it to a reasonable length but also highlight all the
various recipients. I think you are going to like their
scheduling and new structure. See you on the Queen Mary.
