American novelist and composer Paul Bowles.

Novels: The Sheltering Sky; The Spider's House - both still in print

Music:  A recording of his music on Bmg/Rca Victor - #63685 issued just
five months ago, containing Pastorela:  Suite, Suite for Small Orchestra,
Concerto for 2 Pianos, Winds and Percussion/Orchestra, Secret Words, and
The Wind Remains:  Excerpts all played by the Eos Orchestra conducted by
Jonathan Sheffer.  There are several other recordings of his songs, one
sung by William Sharp.
