It's the passacaglia, based on the opening passage in the basses.

I have two recordings, by Marc-Andre Hamelin on a CBC Musica Viva disc and
by Rian de Waal on Hyperion, which is probably easier to find and certainly
better recorded.

Both are reommendable.
