I might add to my original post on this that one has to be motivated in the
direction of becoming a composer and not be prevented by family from doing
so.
To look at this issue statistically we would need examples of
Great composers who did not come from musical genes
Great composers who did come from musical genes
Musical genes that produced nothing
The question is how many people wanted desperately to become composers but
were held back, not by their family, and not by their knowledge, but by
their genes.
