Thanks to Joyce Meier for giving the lie to the myth that Beethoven was
a pauper in life and in death.

 From the time I was a young boy in school, we were taught that to be an
artist necessitated being poor.  Handel and Haydn also reinforce her
position.

Today they would be millionaires!
