RE Tovey/Bruckner articles....let's remember, please, that Tovey knew
this music probably only from the heavily-edited performing versions in
circulation before the Haas editions appeared, hence his descriptions of
both texture and form were not based on what the composer actually wrote.

Let's also, please, not in this context discuss the alleged validity of
these first published versions and ABOVE ALL not discuss the Nazi agenda
regarding the Haas editions.

Narrowly speaking, as both a Bruckner and a Tovey fan...
