First of all I want to thank those who have responded so far to my post.
I am always appreciate the generosity of the responses.

Secondly, I did not make myself clear in the following:

>Soooooo, I was wondering if it would be a useful exercise to discuss which
>genre (orchestral, instrumental, chamber, vocal, opera, etc.) a composer
>excelled in. Which form should I listen to begin to really experience the
>essence of the composers work?

What I was looking for was not only what area Mozart and Schubert excelled
in, but also in what genre(s) ANY composer created their best music. I am
very interested in any opinions the list members may have.

Thanks, as always.

Ron
