This line of discussion on transient cabins reminds me of the farm worker
camps encountered on archaeology surveys out here in the west. Several people
have mapped-in the lean-to domiciles, trash locations, organization of the
camps, and noted quantities of good in their trash. Most of these are
contemporary, but some go back to the 1950s. Has anyone given thought to
potential long-term future value in documenting these features? I am
wondering if some archaeologist 30 years from now is going to regret one of
us did not record those things?
