17th C. English music, played on recorders of that time, were sometimes a
note higher than A=440 while most music at that time was played at A=415
(it varied depending on organs in the region etc.)

In France, the music was often played at A=392 as well.  There are many
examples of this on record (then and on 'recordings' now).
