Deryk Barker wrote about a concert given in Victoria BC by the Lafayatte
quartet with Luba Edlina

Last year The Borodin Quartet played here in Vancouver BC with Luba Edlina,
The program consisted of Shostakovich's 4th, 8th quartet and the Quintet.
Needles to say, that this was a memorable concert. I actually felt fear
while listening to the 8th. I also found the players very somber. I was
not sure whether it is in their nature to be so somber, or perhaps they
were subdued because the concert was given in memory of Dubinsky. The
night before, I saw a jovial, talkative and weirdly dressed Kennedy playing
with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. The contrast was striking.
BTW - a limited edition CD recording of the Borodin Edlina concert was
offered by the Vancouver Friend of Chamber Music organization. Perhaps
they still have copies available.
