Glazunov, Taneyev, Dvorak, Rawsthorne, Aho, Bax, Avshalomov, Paganini,
Saint-Saens, Arnold -- jusyt a few suggestions from my recent past. I find
violin concertos to be particularly satisfying -- partially because I used
to play (with lots of enthusiasm and little efficiency) and partially
because I think the violin is a wonderfully apt partner for an orchestra.
The sounds just seem to belong together somehow.
