From my understanding of the situation, the Java strain, which is the
original Varroa jacobsoni, does not reproduce on Apis mellifera and has to
have its host, Apis cerana, to survive. I would think that what is present
on St. Kitts and Nevis is Varroa destructor if it is reproducing on Apis
mellifera.
