Bob,

I went up on the brower and checked listings for national Motel/hotel
chains.  www.daysinn.com turned out best.  I got a double in downtown Long
Beach for less than half the boat rate. Reservation and confirmation all
done on line. There's a Regal Eight downtown and probably Comfort Inn, etc
etc..  All typically provide special discount rates for internet
reservations.  If you wind up at Days Inn, maybe we can split a cab......
