For used books on music try http://www.rdooley.demon.co.uk/. Good
selection, fast air shipping. E-mail her your want list. Also take a
look at bibliofind, http://www.bibliofind.com/. A clearinghouse for used
and collectible books, many items on music including scores. Participating
stores worldwide. Sample entry (seller and price omitted):
Mozart, Wolfgang Amadeus: Eighteen Concertos for Piano and Orchestra ;
London: Ernst Euelnberg, NF, Three volumes.;, Music
In the USA I like to use Eble Music in Iowa City, IA. They do not have
online ordering, but you can e-mail them for info (no e-mail orders taken
as yet) at [log in to unmask] Their website is www.eble.com, and you
can get their fax number there. I imagine they can tell you whether or not
they can supply an item. Expert staff, very knowledgeable!
A site I haven't used but which looks very promising is
http://www.dacapo.com.au/. Their stock is indexed in Bibliofind. They are
in Australia. They deal in used and antiquarian books and sheet music.
You could also try in the UK:
Blackwell's Music Shop
38 Holywell Street
Oxford OX1 3SW
Tel: (01865) 792792
Fax: (01865) 248833
I'd like to hear about other contributors' favorite places to get music
scores and books!
