Our local rag, the Kansas City Star, has just replaced our classical music
critic, Scott Cantrell, who went to the Dallas Morning News, with a new
one, named Paul Horsley. He is rumored to come from Philadelphia but I
can't vouch for that.
So far he hasn't impressed me, but I've only read four or five reviews and
only one of those was of a concert I'd attended (the Gerontius, which he
raved about, and which I thought was ho-hum).
Anybody know this guy?
Scott Morrison
[A web search turned up mention of an article titled "For an Early
Post-Modern Composer, Vindication" by Paul Horsley, NY Times, July 12,
1998. -Dave]
