I don't think that's correct.  I had a chance to hear Kahane & the LACO
in Glendale last weekend.  The bios of the various orchestra soloists in
the program book have the players on the rosters of bands like the LA
Opera Orchestra, and the Long Beach & Pasadena symphonies, but not the
LAPO.  No doubt LACO players have performed sometimes with LAPO, but
LACO is evidently not a "subset" of LAPO.

The highlight of the program, by the way, was a very tasty Ravel
Introduction & Allegro, with JoAnn Turovsky on harp.
