Assuming you know that the Beethoven Op. 1 is three trios, there are
also piano trios by Hermann Goetz (1840-1876) and his Op. 1 of 1863;
and by Franz Xaver Scharwenka (1850-1924) and his Op. 1 of 1869.  I have
recordings of each, and they are beautiful.  What's more, they fall nicely
between the Beethoven (1794) and the Korngold (1911).
