        According the the recent (1998) Membership Survey about
57% of the SHA membership also belongs to the SAA, 22% to the
AAA and 68% to State, Provincial or Regional groups.

        Although these are tentative numbers SHA members have
about 15% overlap with the AIA, 14% with the SIA, 7% with
the SPMA (! should be much higher) and 5% with the World
Archaeological Congress.

        I have no idea how many people who consider the SAA their
primary organization also belong to the SHA but the number is
quite small.

        But now I need to get back to planning stuff for SHA 2001 in
Long Beach and grading papers.
