There is a second complete Haydn cycle--Maerzendorfer on mhs lps.  The
only dawback is that harpsichords were rarely used(like Hogwood).  But the
performances are almost always more dramatic and insightful than Dorati.
As for Goodman, that was the cycle to die for.But Hyperion --a major risk
taking and high quality firm--was simply losing too much money onthe cycle.
Perhaps they should have released them in multiple sets.  My major
complaint is that neither the Scherchen westminster haydn nor the Sternberg
symphonies on Haydn Society have been released on cd,even in Japan.
