Reginald wants some recommendations, and since he points out piano music
and Mozart/Bach/Handel, I'll restrict my comments to those three composers.
For Mozart piano concertos, I recommmend Schiff/Vegh on Decca,
Bilson/Gardiner on Archiv, and Levin/Hogwood on Decca; the latter two
are period instrument performances.
For Mozart solo piano music, try out Uchida on Philips.
For Bach solo works on piano, I recommend Schepkin on Ongaku for the
partitas, Hewitt on Hyperion for the Well Tempered Clavier, MacGregor on
Collins for The Art of Fugue, and Tureck on DG for the Goldberg Variations.
For Handel solo works on piano, I love Jarrett on ECM.
Well, if Reginald buys all the above, he probably won't have much money
left over, but he'll be a very happy listener (unless his taste is quite
different than mine, but I doubt it given his listed preferences).
