Actually what the Roman legions drank was not vinegar but something a step
up called verjus. The French still use it to make mustard and own up to
it, proudly, in their labelling. Verjus is just the stuff for the onward
foot-soldiering HIPster, marching as to score. Wine's for the more slick,
decadent classical and his large-force orgies.
