One of our LCs just called about a mother in a hospital in Mobile, AL. The
mother had a grand mal seizure and is currently in a coma. She came to
briefly and asked her mother to please help her maintain her milk supply
through this. The hospital has no electric pump so the mother is attempting
to maintain her daughter's supply with a hand pump. Denise, if you are on
(sorry, I've lost your email and your phone number), please contact me at the
number below or email me privately. The mother would benefit from a local
referral who could provide information that would encourage the hospital to
provide this service for the patient or info about local pump depots. We've
given the mother's mother the local La Leche League number as well. I'll be
searching the archives in a bit to find info, if anyone has info that is not
in the archives re: helping a mother maintain milk supply in a situation like
this, please email me privately and/or post to the list. Thanks!
