Unfortunately some of what I consider to be his best efforts remain
unrecorded, especially his 8th "Sinfonia Discreta." To my ears, I can
hear many influences in the music, but I also hear a distinctive voice.
While I don't know what is currently available, there was a fine LP of
his "Feature on Rene Descartes" on BIS, Symphonies 3,4,7 on DMA Philips
and Pezzi Sinfonici on Louisville. I find the music more dissonant than
Hindemith and Holmboe, but at its best it can be as satisfying as the
music of those two composers.
