I don't dispute that we spend a lot of time discussing recordings but
there are those of us who simply do not have access to regular concerts.
In my case, the nearest concert I can attend is a 2-hour plane ride away.
When I'm in a place where there are concerts to be had, I go to as many as
I can. On the few occasions I've been in London, I was going to concerts
every day and evening and when I wasn't doing that, I was going to plays
and when I wasn't doing *that*, I was doing serious damage to my credit
card in the CD shops. These occasions are very rare. I would love to have
a real attachment to a musical group and I would cheerfully report on its
concerts - it's just too expensive and too far away. In the meantime, I'll
get vicarious pleasure from reading of the experiences of others. Am I the
only one on the list who seriously envies Janos?
