Hi, I possess an interesting "book" (diary, actually) that chronicles the
performances of some chamber "musicians" in Germany between 1914 and 1920.
The book lists pieces played (from solos to sextets), dates, and musicians.
I believe the diary was kept by the wife of a relation of Einstein (Richard
Einstein), and the performances occurred in Richard's house (Frankfurt or
Berlin, but I'm not sure). I made an attempt many years ago to learn more
of Einstein's prowess as a violinist, and to identify the other musicians
listed, but to little avail. I found little about this very personal facet
of Einstein's life. I would be interested if anyone could help identify
some of the names listed below, and comment about Einstein as a violinist.
Note that I may have misspelled some of these names, since the penmanship
is at times "difficult" to make out. I've only listed the entries that
identify Einstein as a participant. There are maybe 50 other journal
entries, with many other names.
Thanks, any input or comments are appreciated!
