Jane,
I have had one mystery case sort of like yours. We never figured out what
was wrong exactly; all we knew was that for 3 babies, mom would do fine
until about 7 weeks, and then supply plummeted and her periods returned,
despite round the clock feeds, co-sleeping, etc. Reglan or equivalent could
keep her up, but not herbs. Lab tests came back normal. Interesting thing is
that with her newest baby (#4 or 5, I forget), she has sustained lactation
for the first time without any help for 6 mos. She feels that this baby
latches more deeply than all the others....... but could that many babies
have gotten it that wrong, including with LC help?
So have you screened her more widely on her health/reproductive history?
Sometimes there seems to be NOTHING to hang a case on, and it drives you
crazy. How about trying domperidone?
