Hm, you really need a C P E Bach specialist to answer this since BWV
1036 is thought to be by him rather than by his father. It's listed as Wq
145, H 569 in the CPEB catalogues, and is pretty much ignored in the JSB
catalogues. The "New Grove" says of it: "...similar to trio sonata listed
as doubtful work of J.S. Bach (BWV 1036) [possibly] composed jointly by J.
S. and C.P.E Bach".

I would have thought that some mention would have been made if it was a
Musical Offering adaptation, so it sounds as though your CD is confused.

What CD is it? I have never come across a recording of this work. (or
alleged to be this work!)

all the best,

Simon Crouch.
