University of Montana: Archaeologist Position
The University of Montana, Department of Anthropology invites applications
for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor
level in archaeology and cultural resource management, beginning August
2000. The successful candidate will have the demonstrated ability to
accomplish the following goals:
1. teach a four field introductory course in anthropology; undergraduate
and
graduate courses in general anthropology, archaeology method and
theory,
regional archaeology, and cultural resource management
2. provide "hands on" training in the methods and techniques of cultural
resource management
3. coordinate the advising and training of graduate students in the
cultural
heritage track
We seek a highly energetic individual with the following attributes:
A. demonstrated background in western North American archaeological
research
B. active participation in cultural resource management
C. experience working with Native American communities
D. a methodological specialty in lithic analysis or zooarchaeology
E. a Ph.D. in archaeology or anthropological archaeology.
