Because the Native American Indian tribes (I have forgotten the name of the
pleaing party) have presented a case stating (with documentation) that
hackers could penetrate the Bureau of Indian Affairs database for trust
accounts. The potential therefore existed that someone could change fund
amounts, moves amounts, etc. The Department of Interior therefore decided
to shut down all of its servers, including all subagencies, until the
situation can be resolved.
