This is clearly not the case for the Boston Symphony Orchestra.  I did this
exercise once before (unfortunately, I don't have immediate access to the
compilation), and it turned out the BSO's programs are full of 20th century
music.  I doubt the BSO is unique in this regard.  What's more, the BSO
typically commissions at least one or two new pieces each season, and
performs several other world, US and Boston premieres each season.
