I, on the other hand, heard her do it live in June and, let me tell you, it
was every bit as good as the recording and then some.

If I may take this opportunity to cast as vote, or rather two, for my
favourite chaconne, it would be from one of two very recent versions, that
of Lucy van Dael on Naxos or perhaps even better, Rachael Podger on Channel
Classics.  Both play baroque violins, by the way, though I don't think
that's a deciding factor for me.  Before these two came out, Jacques Poulet
on Arion had my number one vote, and not just for the chaconne.
