Good morning, Erich. The General Forum is intended to be a place for discussion on any topic shared by everyone just as it has been in the old listserv platform. We do offer Communities of Practice organized around shared interests and goals, but these groups are a bit more structured and have a goal of generating specific products to improve the field (e.g. annual conference sessions, webinars, etc.).

Best,
Christine

OK I joined up this morning, I think. I'll reserve judgement until I have seen the first digest and attempt a reply.

My one comment is that what I loved the most about both this list and childmus was/is that they were shared by everyone from different departments. I think I learned something valuable when I read a post from someone in development or visitor services that I will miss by being in these more compartmentalized communities. I know that has certainly been my experience with those Linkedin groups.

Also hope it also doesn't go all spam-city like those.

Erich
