ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

Hi Wendy,

There is no email address to which you can send an email to post a new message. To post a new message, you will need to login to the ASTC Community and post in the General Forum discussion. By subscribing to the General Forum with the Legacy option, you can *respond* to messages via email, just like the ISEN-ASTC-L listserv. However, by clicking any ASTC Community link in a General Forum notification email, you will automatically be logged into the site, so with one click on the Reply to Discussion or Post Message link, you will be ready to post.

Everyone was subscribed to the General Forum with the same subscription preference they used for the ISEN-ASTC-L listserv (real time, daily digest, etc), and any new subscribers will be asked to choose their notification setting when they join. You can change your subscription preference at any time by going to http://community.astc.org/communities1/mysubscriptions (you will need to be logged into the site).

Thanks!
Mary

Mary,
Just to clarify for the old-time list users, it looks as if the main change is that it will no longer be possible to share or respond to a message by writing to an email address, as with ISEN-ASTC-L. Is that right?
It also looks as if the new forum's default setting is to receive messages in a daily digest. So if anyone wants to get messages as they're posted, they likely will have to log on and change their settings. (I'm guessing the kind of quick exchange that just happened is going to slow down a lot!) Wendy
