Hi,
What are other museum summer camps using for Robotics take home kits ?
We are revising our Robotics Lab summer camp content. Camp has a three workshop rotation, exploring biology's relationship to robotics, building and programming an Arduino Braitenberg vehicle ( used to use Crickets, loved them)and finally investigating the history and variety of robots along with building a take home robot kit.
In the past children ages 9-12 made an OWI Jungle Robot kit. Instructors say the Jungle robot has too many slight differences in small parts. The kids do not notice these and proceed to assemble incorrectly when following step by step with the group.

Under $10 there are many solar rolling options but they are already making a vehicle. I was looking for a snap together walking bot with fewer parts under $16 each. Found Tamiya walking and hopping bots. Has anyone built those with kids age 9-12?

Anyone have other suggestions?
