As one of the people around when this listserv began, I want to express my
appreciation for nearly 20 years of collegial sharing and civil exchange.

I hope ASTC will preserve the listserv archive and make it freely
available; it's a resource for understanding questions and concerns in the
field and how those have changed over time.

I also like the way the listserv's name communicates that ASTC is just one
of the players in the big and diverse field of informal science education.
To have offered this service to the whole field during a time when
everything seems to be for sale has helped keep alive a kind of communal
spirit that serves us all well.
