It seems that cooperation which I suspect was important to our survival as
a species is breaking down. Perhaps because we have developed to such a
point our immediate survival is not perceived to be at immediate risk from
global climate change. The deniers of the existence of global climate
change feel they are not risking their personal, immediate survival so they
will try and use their position (and not cooperate for the general good) in
order to gain power and protect what they feel is at risk if we enact
regulations to counter the rise of greenhouse gases. I would guess that
holding onto what is "mine" preceded cooperation for the general good.
Deniers therefor are an example of backward evolvers. Quite a feat!
