As hard as it is to do in an informal setting, such as a museum, until a large scale, longitudinal studies are put together on its impacts, there will not be good evidence of informal's impacts, of what works and what doesn't. Accomplishing this task should be a primary goal of visitor research in museums, and it should be conducted in conjunction with more traditional areas of expertise, like medicine.
