Martin,
I really get your point. We need a science channel that is maybe more like the food channel where we see how it really happens. Of course I am being a bit facetious. But your point about getting into how it happens deserves more attention. David Atenborough's recent programs on how he did what he did were maybe a bit closer to this. Not hard science but still richer than just pretty pictures and cute baby animals.
