Liz, I can't thank you enough for sharing these resources. They are
awesome. I've spent the afternoon perusing the catalog of ISE public
engagement programs. I served on the VSA board with Larry for several
years, so know and respect his work And am glad to make your acquaintance.

Nikki

Nikki-- Some colleagues and I have been working on producing and evaluating
dialogue and discussion forums for the Museum of Science, Boston and the
NISE Network. One of the projects that Larry Bell and I worked on sought to
understand how informal science education institutions are integrating
public engagement with science elements into their programming. You can find
our catalog of ISE public engagement with science projects here:

http://dimensionsofpes.wikispaces.com/Files+for+sharing

Additionally, the NISE Network has done a lot of work thinking about
creating forums around nanotechnology. You can find a nice guide from the
NISE Network about how to run forums here:

l

Materials that you can use to run a NISE Network nanotechnology forum can be
found here:

If you have any other questions about these projects, I or my colleagues
would love to talk to you further. Just contact me off the list.

-- Liz

Our community is seeking a neutral setting to learn more about current
science issues and topics

and then engage in civil dialogue, listening to various voices as folks seek
to form their own

perspectives on whatever. We're setting up a series structured around a
presenter for 30 minutes

followed by 30 minutes of civil conversation.

If anyone has experience with this sort of programming, I'll appreciate your
sharing what has

worked well for you and what has not.
